27 Years of Relationships, Memories and Milestones
September is a special month at Logansport Savings Bank as we celebrate six members of our team and the many years they have dedicated to our customers, our communities and one another.
This month, we are especially celebrating Tracey Remley and Jeff Jones, who have each been part of the Logansport Savings Bank team for 27 years.
Twenty seven years ago, Tracey began her career at Logansport Savings Bank at a time when banking looked very different. When she started, typewriters were still part of everyday banking life. Since then, she has watched the bank evolve through decades of technological change, from paper files and typewriters to digital banking, while also witnessing the transformation of Logansport Savings Bank through the remodeling of our Logansport branch, the addition of an operations center and the opening of our first branch in Peru.
The most meaningful part of Tracey’s 27 years has been the relationships she has built with customers. Tracey has been here long enough to serve some customers through the entire life of their mortgage from the day they applied for their home loan to the day they made their final payment, whether it was a 15 or 25 year mortgage.
Born and raised in Cass County and a Pioneer High School graduate, Tracey began her banking career in 1989 as a secretary at the former F&M Bank, which later became Salin Bank. Two friends who worked as tellers at Logansport Savings Bank encouraged her to apply for a position in the loan department.
“What I enjoy most about my job is the opportunity to work with others, solve problems, and see the results of my efforts,” Tracey shared. “I find it especially rewarding when I can help someone, improve a process, or contribute to a positive outcome.”
For Tracey, those relationships and the opportunity to make a difference are what make her work meaningful. She is proud to have played a part in Logansport Savings Bank’s success for 27 years which is more than one-quarter of the bank’s 100-year history.
Jeff Jones has witnessed many of those same changes from the lending side of the bank. “When I started here in 1999, processing was all done with batch tickets that were picked up nightly by a courier service and taken to Cincinnati for posting and updating,” Jeff recalled. “We had computers, but it was a DOS-based system, so it was not nearly as clean as what we use today.”
Over his 27 years, Jeff has seen Logansport Savings Bank transition through multiple core conversions and a significant evolution in technology and operations. What was once a process where lenders wore many hats has grown into a system with specialized teams handling different stages of the lending process.
For Jeff, that trust is what makes his work meaningful. “Working with the customers and seeing the trust that they have placed in me to solve their financial problems,” he shared.
We are also celebrating Maureen Prentice and her 12 years with Logansport Savings Bank as she prepares to retire following more than 40 years in the banking industry.
Maureen came to Logansport Savings Bank with decades of experience in compliance and audit and has been part of many important chapters in the bank’s recent history, including the remodeling of our Logansport branch, the opening of our Peru branch and the celebration of Logansport Savings Bank’s 100th anniversary.
As she looks toward retirement, Maureen says the people have been the most rewarding part of her time at Logansport Savings Bank.
“I enjoy working with the staff here at the bank,” Maureen said. “It’s the people here that make the bank so great. We’re like one big family.”
After more than four decades in banking, Maureen says she is proud to end her career at Logansport Savings Bank.
“I’m proud that I can retire from such a great place,” she shared. “It’s a great way to end a career.” Maureen will retire from Logansport in December this year.
