Peru Branch Open House and Official Ribbon Cutting
Logansport Savings Bank officially celebrated the opening of its Peru branch today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the bank’s first ribbon cutting in Miami County and an exciting new chapter in its 101-year history of serving local communities. While rain fell outside, there was no shortage of smiles, laughter, and excitement inside.
“Today is a very special day for our organization,” said Chad Higgins, President and CEO of Logansport Savings Bank. “This is our first ribbon cutting in Miami County, and we’re honored to officially become part of this wonderful community.”
The celebration brought together community leaders, business partners, customers, employees, friends, and neighbors from throughout Miami County, including Mayor Don Sturch and representatives from the Miami County Economic Development Authority and the Miami County Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Don Sturch welcomed Logansport Savings Bank to Peru and shared his excitement about the bank’s decision to invest in the community.
“This is a beautiful location. You’re 101 years now, and your longevity is a testament to Logansport Savings Bank and the adjustments that you’ve had to make through the years for all the different variables that come your way,” Mayor Sturch said. “We are pleased to have you here in our community now and couldn’t be happier to make you part of the community. We thank you for choosing this location, choosing Peru, and wish you many, many years of success here.”
The journey to the new branch began with groundbreaking just over a year ago. What started as a vision has now become a full-service banking location designed to serve individuals, families, farmers, and businesses throughout Miami County.
For Logansport Savings Bank, the new branch represents more than bricks and mortar. It represents an investment in people, relationships, and the future of the community.
Chad Higgins, President and CEO of Logansport Savings Bank expressed his appreciation to the bank’s Board of Directors for its continued leadership and support, as well as the many organizations, businesses, contractors, and individuals who helped bring the project to life. Special recognition was given to K4 Architecture and Design for creating the branch’s welcoming design and to White Oak Commercial Construction Group for bringing that vision to life through construction.
Living Manna Ministries was recognized, whose previous use of the site created an opportunity for Logansport Savings Bank to establish its new home in Peru. Logansport savings Bank also recognized the many employees who played an important role in establishing the new branch and organizing the celebration, including Jen Savini and her team, Chad Handschu, Jeromie Wright, Rex Betzner, Maureen Prentice, former employee Mike Shropshire and board member Tom Steinberger.
Logansport Savings Bank has also supported local organizations and initiatives, including the Peru Circus City Festival Parade, Peru Amateur Circus, Peru Rotary Club’s ‘Shoes That Fit’ program, Miami County YMCA, and financial literacy education efforts with North Miami Schools and Maconaquah Schools.
The open house was filled with warm conversations, smiles, refreshments, and well wishes for the Peru team.
Guests were invited to leave messages on a canvas board titled “Best Wishes for the Peru Team,” creating a special keepsake for the branch to display and treasure for years to come. Among the messages was one from The K4 Family of Companies that read, “Congratulations to the Logansport Team on the new facility. Best wishes for continued success to an amazing team!” Mayor Don Sturch also left a simple message that captured the spirit of the day: “Congrats! Welcome to Peru!”
Guests enjoyed light refreshments provided by Just Baked by Trisha, a local Peru bakery, adding another special touch from the community to the celebration.
