Logansport Savings Bank breaks ground in Peru
Logansport Savings Bank (LSB) is expanding its footprint in Miami County. On May 30, 2025, the bank gathered with staff and various community members to mark this significant milestone with a groundbreaking at the site of its new branch location. This brand new, state-of-the-art facility will be a full-service bank branch, located at 851 N. Broadway in Peru, Indiana and strategically positioned to serve the growing Miami County community.
Approximately one-third of Logansport Savings Bank’s workforce currently live or have strong ties to the Miami County community. Although Logansport Savings Bank has been physically located in Logansport and Cass County for 100 years, it has strategically grown its regional presence over the last 25 years to serve customers across north-central Indiana. Having key members of our team who are eager and ready to serve the Miami County community with a broader scope of personalized banking services ultimately led to the decision of establishing a physical location in Peru.
The building is designed by the architectural firm K4 Architecture and Design. White Oak Commercial Construction Group is serving as the General Contractor for the project.
Among those in attendance were Mayor Don Sturch, many Miami County community members, Logansport Savings Bank staff members and members of Logansport Savings Bank’s board of directors. Bishop Mary Everding from Living Manna Ministries offered a prayer of dedication during the groundbreaking event.
“We could not be more excited to make a significant investment in Peru and Miami county by building a new branch location that will better serve our customers,” said Chad Higgins, President and CEO of Logansport Savings Bank. “Opening a brand new, from-the-ground-up branch is a strong reflection of our long-term commitment to growth and to being a trusted financial partner for our customers in Peru, Miami County, and across the north-central Indiana region. We look forward to growing relationships with our existing customers and building relationships with new customers in the years to come.”
Extensive site preparation needed to be completed prior to the groundbreaking event. Construction will soon begin on the 2,700 square-foot single-story building, which will include the convenience of two drive-through banking lanes, a drive-up ATM that also accepts deposits, private offices for financial consultations, and the same friendly and personalized service that Logansport Savings Bank customers have come to know and trust. The branch location is expected to open to the public in the first quarter of 2026.
