Logansport Savings Bank adds new Commercial-Ag Lender and Business Development Officer
Logansport Savings Bank (LSB) is proud to announce the addition of two new team members from the Cass and Miami County communities. Nikki Ellington of Logansport and Cass County has joined LSB as Business Development Officer, and Katelyn Christner of Miami County has joined as a Commercial/Ag Lender.
With more than twenty-eight years of banking experience, Nikki brings a wealth of knowledge to the bank. In past roles, she has helped customers with consumer and commercial-related financing, and counseled them on utilizing a full range of banking options. In her new role with Logansport Savings Bank, Nikki will focus on building relationships and working with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored financial solutions.
Outside of work, Nikki is actively involved with United Way of Cass County, currently serving as their Board Secretary. She is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Logansport. Just last year, she was named the 2024 Business Woman of the Year by the Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce. Nikki resides in Logansport with her husband Scott and enjoys spending time with their two grown children and their three grandsons.
“I could not be more excited to join Logansport Savings Bank,” says Nikki. “I take pride in providing exceptional customer experiences and in building strong relationships with my clients. Having spent many years in lending, I also understand the different roles that bankers play within businesses and how important it is to understand their business needs. My goal is always to exceed expectations for my customers and ensure they receive the best possible service. Cass County has been my home and professional base for decades, and I look forward to continuing to serve the people and businesses here in this new role.”
Born and raised in Miami County, Katelyn Christner brings firsthand knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities our local businesses and farmers face to her role with Logansport Savings Bank. With her agricultural roots and a heart for the communities we serve, she will partner with farmers and agribusinesses, as well as small business and commercial clients, to provide personalized guidance and financial solutions that support their growth and long-term success.
Kate is a 2012 graduate of North Miami High School, and a 2016 graduate of Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her transition from healthcare to banking has been smooth and continues to provide her with opportunities to learn and grow right alongside the customers she serves. Outside of work, Kate is actively involved with the Miami County 4-H Fair Association and the Northern Indiana Community Foundation. She resides in Miami County with her husband Tanner and their two children as seventh-generation farmers on her family farm.
“I love being part of the Logansport Savings Bank team. The people that I work with are kind, caring, helpful, and truly focused on community-building and community banking,” says Kate. “Building meaningful relationships and helping my fellow community members achieve their goals is what motivates me every day. It’s incredibly rewarding to play a role in turning ideas and dreams into reality. Logansport Savings Bank’s dedication to the local community also aligns perfectly with my values, and I look forward to working with new and existing customers.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Nikki and Kate to our Logansport Savings Bank team,” says Chad Higgins, President and CEO of Logansport Savings Bank. “Their deep roots within the communities we serve, combined with their passion for helping others embodies the spirit of community banking that is very important to us. Nikki’s industry knowledge and Kate’s hands-on agricultural and business experience will be a significant asset as we continue to enhance our services and grow our presence across the north-central Indiana region.”
